The Miss Augusta Board is pleased to announce the second Miss Augusta Outstanding Teen pageant. We are a local pageant and open to full-time residents, students, or employees of the following counties – Richmond, Columbia, McDuffie, Lincoln, Jefferson and Burke. We abide by all Miss America Outstanding Teen qualifications to compete in this local competition.

 

The pageant includes these areas of competition: Interview (35%), Talent (35%), Evening Wear (15%) Lifestyle and Fitness in Active Wear(10%), and On-stage Question (5%).. If you are interested in competing in the 2009 Miss Augusta Outstanding Teen Pageant the deadline for competition is Tuesday September 30, 2008.

 
  • Guidelines for Areas of Competition
    • Talent
      • Talent presentations must be a maximum of 2 minutes (2:00) in length
      • Only the contestant will be permitted on stage during her talent presentation. No other person can be part of her presentation.
      • Talent presentations must be performed live
      • Talent routines that are prohibited include: the use of fire, fireworks, swords, knives, or machetes; bow and arrow acts; live animals; taking off of clothing layers.
    • Private Interview

       

      •  Contestants will wear a dress, business suit, pantsuit or other attire suitable for a job interview.
  • The interview will be “panel-style” with the questions asked in “press conference style” by the judges. The judge asking the first question is determined before the interview begins and, after that question, there is no pre-determined order of questions. Any judge may ask a question at any time.
  • There is no opening or closing statement
  • The total amount of time for interview will be six (6) minutes

 

    • Evening Wear
  • Contestants select evening gown, cocktail-type pantsuit, or other evening wear attire suitable to the individual contestant.
  • Physical Fitness
  • Contestants will wear an outfit that expresses their physical activity. For example, a dancer could wear a dance outfit, a cheerleader could wear her cheerleading outfit, etc.
 

 

Rules to compete in the 2009 Miss Augusta Outstanding Teen

Contestant must (1) have been at least thirteen (13) years of age at the time of her first appearance in the preliminary round of the local or state competition that she is entering in anticipation of this year’s National Finals, and (2) be no older than seventeen (17) years of age and not begun senior classes in the school year in which she would compete in the National Finals.

Contestant must reside in, be enrolled in, and attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited public, private, or home school program with passing scores in academic and citizenship grades.

Contestant must be a citizen of the United State of America.

Contestant is and has always been a female.

Contestant is not now nor has ever been married.

Contestant is not now pregnant and has never been pregnant and is not the adoptive parent of any child.

Contestant must be of good moral character and has not been involved at any time in any act of moral turpitude.

Other than minor or petty offenses, a contestant has never been convicted of any criminal offense and there are no criminal charges presently pending against contestant.

Contestant can never have performed any act or engaged in any activity or employment that is or could reasonably be characterized as dishonest, immoral or indecent.

Contestant must be in good health and can, to the best of her knowledge, participate fully in any pageant/program activities.

Contestant does not use or consume any illegal controlled dangerous substances or abuse the use of alcohol or other dangerous substances.

Contestant must not be eligible to compete in the Miss America competition.

Contestant must be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the Miss Augusta Board.

The following items must be RECEIVED by September 30, 2008, so please allow sufficient time for delivery. The Forms must be typed and you must use the required forms.  Please include your e-mail address on your forms.

    (Simply fill in the appropriate blanks after first highlighting the existing text. Filling one blank will automatically populate all similar blanks. No other text may be changed, added or deleted. Please remember to make a hard copy of your finished contract before closing the file since this Adobe PDF file cannot be saved.)

    (in case of two requests for the same music, the contestant whose form is received first will be allowed to use the music)
  10. Contestant Photo two (hard copy of a 5x7 headshot (black and white, if possible) for the program book and a 300dpi jpeg for the website) Please email the jpeg to Lynn Huff.
  11. Music CD (no tapes, CDs only please; music cannot exceed 2 minutes in time - Note that for Miss GA 2009, talent time may not exceed 90 seconds. This year only, Miss Augusta and other locals you have the option of 90 seconds or 2 minutes. The judges will be informed of this option.)
